Holiday Travel & Upcoming Attorney Sessions

Nov. 24, 2024

The following email was sent to international students and scholars by Davis International Center Director, Albert Rivera:

Dear International Students and Scholars,

As winter break nears, I know that many of you are looking forward to reuniting with loved ones outside the United States and celebrating the holidays with them.

Some of you have shared questions with your advisors about your winter travel plans, especially about re-entering the country after the new administration takes office on January 20, 2025.  At this point, we do not know how a change in administration will affect specific immigration policies or visa processing.  The Davis International Center will continue to monitor the situation and advise accordingly.  Please visit our Travel Guidance page to make sure you have everything you need, including a valid travel signature (required for F and J visa holders only).

To help address some of your questions, our office is arranging a series of virtual Q&A sessions with an immigration attorney to be held after the Thanksgiving break. We hope you will be able to join us for these sessions, which are designed to help you make informed decisions.  We expect to have the details posted on our website by Monday, November 25th.

As always, we are here to support you. Please do not respond to this email as it is not regularly monitored; instead reach out to your Davis IC advisor for guidance based on your individual situation.

With warmest regards,
Albert Rivera
Director, Davis International Center
