Humor is an important mode of cultural transmission, and can form the basis for social interactions among friends. However, it can also become a point of contention and inadvertently offend those whose sensibilities are different from ours. What is considered funny in your culture? Do you find American humor funny?
Tea & Talk is an informal weekly discussion group designed for international students, scholars and spouses focused on issues that are common for adjusting to life in the U.S. and the Princeton campus culture. Tea & Talk meets every Wednesday. Feel free to attend as many (or as few) as your schedule allows. Come and receive insight from other internationals facing similar situations and challenges or simply have general questions answered about why Americans act a certain way! A light lunch (and of course tea!) will be served at each program.
